History of the Business
1978-The Bureau of A gricultural Extension (BAEX) promoted a product made out of rice and mungbean called Infant Supplementary Mixture or INSUMIX purposely to solve the problem of malnutrition. Although,it is some sort of dole out, the rural families accepted only in a short period of two to three weeks from the start of feeding due to detrimental effect of the product.
1979-The owner who was the direct supervisor of the program then,conducted an applied research and was able to determine the cause of the detrimental effect of the product.The quality of the product has been improved with the incorporation of sesame and soybean particularly the quality of its protein.Its protein is equipped with all the amino acids essential to human nutrition such as Lysine,Leucine,Isoleucine,Tryptophan,Methionine,Threonine,Phenylalanine,Cystine, Arginine and Valine. It has been found to be effective againsts different forms of malnutrition.
1984-The formulation was applied to the owner's first born child starting the age of 4 months.Few years later, the product has spread to different municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur and even reached as far as the provinces of Misamis Occidental and Bukidnon introduced by users in Pagadian City to their relatives and friends.
1987-The name of the company initially registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Pagadian City was NUTRI-BOOSTER FOODS PHILIPPINES
1990-Many families have already tested the convincing performance of the product including families of high ranking officials of Pagadian City and Province of Zamboanga del Sur as well as officials of the Department of Health.
1992-Although at the very start, it was never expected to go into commercial scale, but in view of the developments, there is a strong basis to go into mass production.The owner decided to retire from government service after 22 years in the Department of Agriculture to have a starting capital and enough time for the production.
1994-The product was displayed for the first time in the market with continuous educational and promotional campaign thru mass media and other approaches.
1998-NUTRI-BOOSTER FOODS PHILIPPINES at Balangasan District,Pagadian City was issued with License to Operate (LTO) No.RDII-RIX-F-1322 by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) dated September 15,1998.
2000-Pediatricians in private practice in the cities of Pagadian and Dipolog at their own, have started to recommend the Nutri-Booster product to their clients.
2001 up to the present-Customers from Pagadian City and Province of Zamboanga del Sur started to bring the product outside the country for home consumption of their relatives particularly in Malaysia and United States.Nutri-Booster Cereals is now available in diffrent market outlets outside the Province of Zamboanga del Sur.
